Women's Bracketology: 2024 NCAA tournament

Selection Sunday is here. So is our final projection for 2023-24. The First Four of the women's NCAA tournament will be played Wednesday and Thursday, with the first round tipping off Friday. Albany, New York, and Portland, Oregon, will host the regionals, as the two-site format remains for a second consecutive year. It all culminates in Cleveland at the Final Four on April 5 and 7.

Champ Week is a wrap. All the automatic bids are determined. Now the 68-team field is completely in the hands of the NCAA selection committee. Drexel gave us one big surprise in Sunday's final game, upsetting CAA regular-season champ Stony Brook to earn a trip to the NCAA tournament for the second time in four years. More surprises likely will come when the bracket is revealed (8 p.m. ET, ESPN/ESPN App), but not at the top of the bracket, where South Carolina will certainly be the No. 1 overall seed.
