LIVE Transfer Talk: Cristiano Ronaldo could join PSG if Kylian Mbappe leaves for Real Madrid

The summer transfer window is into its final month for the major European leagues,  which means the biggest clubs are looking to make a splash in the market before the new season begins. Check out the latest gossip below, and see all official deals here.

TOP STORY: Mbappe, Ronaldo transfer futures intertwined

Cristiano Ronaldo's time in Serie A could be coming to an end with reports that the 36-year-old wants to leave Juventus before the transfer window closes on Aug. 31.

AS writes that the Portugal star wants a move to be completed as soon as possible, with his contract expiring in 2022, and has already eyed two potential destinations.

However, any deal hinges on the future of Kylian Mbappe, with Ronaldo confident that Paris Saint-Germain would see him as the first-choice replacement if Real Madrid acquire the services of the 22-year-old this summer.

But if the €150m-rated France international stays in Paris, Ronaldo wishes to re-join Los Blancos and team up with former manager Carlo Ancelotti in the Spanish capital.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner was in strong form last season, scoring 29 times in 31 league starts for Juventus, and would still command a hefty transfer fee if the club were to let him go now.

LIVE BLOG

21.25 BST: That's it for another day of our live transfer blog folks, but we'll be back shortly with tomorrow's paper round and do the whole live thing all over again on Wednesday. Thanks as always for checking in!

20.35 BST: Barcelona are looking to offload players, resign Lionel Messi and figure out a future for Antoine Griezmann. ESPN writers Sam Marsden and Moises Llorens assess what the Catalan club's biggest priorities are this summer ahead of the upcoming La Liga season.

19.45 BST: Liverpool announced on Tuesday that Brazilian midfielder Fabinho has signed a new contract with the club that will keep him there for the foreseeable future.

"I'm delighted to have signed a new contract with the club," Fabinho said. "Since the beginning of the conversation, I was really positive about it because it's what I wanted -- staying in this club, keep playing for Liverpool. Now this is official and I'm really happy."

18.51 BST: 18-year-old Sporting Kansas City forward Tyler Freeman is bound for a season on loan with German second-tier outfit Karlsruher.

Freeman, a U.S. Under-17 international, signed a professional contract with SKC at the age of 15, but has yet to make a first-team appearance.

18.11 BST: Bayern Munich youngster Joshua Zirkzee is heading out on loan once again, with Anderlecht his destination for the duration of the 2021-22 campaign.

The Netherlands Under-21 international spent the second half of last season with Parma in Serie A, but made just four substitute appearances before suffering a knee injury.

17:24 BST: It looks as if Tottenham might be about to get their man, with Cristian Romero set to complete a move to the North London club.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Atalanta have accepted a bid of €55m for the 23-year-old, adding that Romero will fly to England "within the next 48 hours."

16.52 BST: Man United have spent over £110m on two new players already, so is it time to move on Paul Pogba?

16.15 BST: Celtic have announced the signings of Tottenham goalkeeper Joe Hart and James McCarthy, who was a free agent having left Crystal Palace at the end of his contract.

16.07 BST: ICYMI - Manchester City are confident they have done enough to lure Jack Grealish from Aston Villa, sources have told ESPN's Rob Dawson.

Grealish, according to sources close to the midfielder, has been torn over his decision to leave his boyhood club this summer but there is a growing belief at the Etihad Stadium that the 25-year-old will be their player before the start of the new season.

Pep Guardiola's side begin their Premier League campaign against Tottenham Hotspur on Aug. 15.

City are set to pay £100m to activate a release clause in Grealish's contract at Villa Park. Sources have told ESPN the idea of including highly rated 19-year-old winger Morgan Rogers in the deal has been floated, but Villa have indicated their preference is a straight cash bid.

15.40 BST: Chelsea are weighing up their options after having a €100m bid for Romelu Lukaku rejected by Inter Milan, sources have told ESPN's James Olley.

Champions League winners Chelsea are in the market to sign a striker this summer but have been frustrated by Borussia Dortmund's reluctance to consider letting their top target, Erling Haaland, go.

Chelsea have consequently explored other options. Although they are monitoring Harry Kane's situation at Tottenham Hotspur, there is an acknowledgement their north London rivals are extremely unlikely to do business with them.

That has led Chelsea to pursue a deal for Lukaku, making a player-plus-cash offer believed to also include defender Marcos Alonso.

Sources have told ESPN that Lukaku is not actively seeking to leave the club, but Inter are under pressure to raise funds through player exits, having been hit particularly hard financially by the coronavirus pandemic.

14.55 BST: Liverpool defender Kostas Tsimikas won't be leaving, despite interest from Napoli, says Il Mattino.

Tsimikas, 25, arrived from Olympiakos for around £12m in August 2020 but has made just seven appearances since.

While he may not have impressed, Liverpool want to keep the Greece international as competition for left-back Andy Robertson, so won't be letting him go.

14.15 BST: Football.London reports that "Arsenal and another London club have proposed a player plus cash deal for Leicester midfielder James Maddison."

Maddison, 24, has caught the eye of the Gunners as they seek to replace Martin Odegaard after he returned to Real Madrid on loan.

The former Norwich and Coventry midfielder is rated at around £60m, while Arsenal could offer Joe Willock, Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah in return to lower the fee.

It will interesting to see who their London competition is, though, as Tottenham and Chelsea have other areas to strengthen, while West Ham would not be regarded as a step up from Leicester.

13.49 BST: Le Parisien reports that AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic contacted Paris Saint-Germain over a possible return before he signed a new contract.

Ibrahimovic, 39, agreed to sign a contract extension until 2022 in April and netted 17 goals in all competitions to help the Rossoneri qualify for the Champions League for the first time since 2014.

But evidently he wanted to check that PSG weren't keen on bringing him back first.

13.33 BST: Could Manchester City really spend over £200m to sign Harry Kane and Jack Grealish?

13.00 BST: Harry Kane missed a second day of Tottenham's preseason on Tuesday but is expected to report back to the club's training ground before the end of the week, sources have told ESPN's James Olley.

Kane, 28, believes he has a gentleman's agreement to leave Tottenham this summer, creating a stand-off which has been exacerbated by his decision not to return as originally planned.

Spurs and the player have differing views over the situation. Sources claim Kane feels his plans were communicated to the club and therefore the present furore has been blown out of proportion but Spurs are thought to be disappointed by his actions.

No decision has yet been taken but sources have told ESPN that Spurs could begin internal disciplinary action against Kane, leading to a fine of perhaps as much as one or even two weeks' wages. Kane has three years remaining on his £200,000-a-week contract but wants to leave Tottenham in pursuit of silverware.

12.45 BST: Wolves and United States midfielder Owen Otasowie has rejected a new contract, says The Daily Telegraph.

Otasowie, 20, has a deal which expires in 2022 and is valued at around £6m, with Wolfsburg and Anderlecht keen.

12.21 BST: The Daily Telegraph reports that Aston Villa are "trying to land two former loan players with deals for Tammy Abraham and Axel Tuanzebe."

Chelsea striker Abraham, 23, will reportedly be allowed to leave this summer for £40m, though Arsenal have also been linked with the England international.

Man United's Tuanzebe, 23, could also head back to Villa on loan though Newcastle United are watching the defender's situation.

11.57 BST: Arsenal may need to rethink their midfield as they have been dealt a significant blow on the eve of the new Premier League season with Thomas Partey set to miss the opening weeks with an ankle injury, sources have told ESPN's James Olley.

The 28-year-old is expected to see a specialist later this week after limping off during the first half of Sunday's 2-1 friendly defeat to Chelsea at Emirates Stadium.

An exact timescale on his recovery is yet to be determined but the midfielder will miss the opening Premier League game against Brentford on Aug. 13 and the early indications are he could miss further matches beyond that.

Partey joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in a £45m last summer but his debut season was hampered by various injury issues, most prominently when missing 10 matches at the turn of the year with a hip problem.

11.18 BST: More from the Harry Kane situation... The Evening Standard reports that "Kane is due back at Spurs later this week and club is aware of his situation. Kane believes situation has been blown out of proportion."

10.50 BST: Aston Villa are very keen to sign Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse and have made a second bid after their initial £25m offer was rejected, says the Daily Mail.

Villa may soon have a £100m windfall after letting Jack Grealish leave for Man City, so they are looking to strengthen their squad as a result. They have already signed Emi Buendia for £33m from Norwich and have agreed a £30m deal for Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey.

Ward-Prowse, 26, is keen to leave Southampton this summer and Villa want to add him alongside Norwich City's Todd Cantwell.

10.04 BST: Could Aaron Ramsey be set to swap one set of vertical black and white stripes for another?

The Juventus midfielder is surplus to requirements in Turin and Goal says that Newcastle want to bring him back to the Premier League.

His former club Arsenal and rivals Tottenham have also been linked with a move for the 30-year-old Wales international.

09.53 BST: Italy's Euro 2020 winning goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu has joined Genoa on a free transfer.

09.41 BST: Munir El Haddadi has no intention of leaving Sevilla this summer, according to his agent.

Munir, 25, has played 80 minutes in Sevilla's four warm-up games this summer and his agent, Francesc Valdivieso, has denied reports that the player is considering leaving.

"As he has always done, Munir is working very hard so that the coach can count on him," Valdivieso told ABC. "No one from Sevilla has said that they are not counting on him and that they want him to leave. It's impossible that Munir would leave the club this summer as no one can pay what Sevilla would demand for a player of the characteristics of Munir.

"The player has no intention of leaving Sevilla. Munir's aim is to honour the contract he has with Sevilla. He is very happy at the club although he would like to play more because when he has done so, he's felt important and given good performances."

Munir has scored 22 goals in 88 appearances since joining Sevilla from Barcelona in January 2019. The Morocco international has a contract until June 2023.

09.20 BST: Brazilian club Santos have confirmed they have reached an agreement with Juventus for the transfer of teenage striker Kaio Jorge to Turin.

"Juventus reached the conditions we requested and which we believe were the best at that time for the Club, given the scenario we found. Good luck to Kaio Jorge," said Santos FC president Andres Rueda.

Santos did not reveal the transfer fee but Juve could reportedly pay up to €4m for the Brazilian starlet.

Kaio Jorge, 19, is expected to undergo a medical in Turin on Wednesday before putting pen to paper on a five-year contract with the Italian giants. He arrived at Santos in 2013 and has scored 17 goals in 84 professional appearances for the club.

08.47 BST: After Monday's no-show at training, The Athletic reports that Tottenham striker Harry Kane "does not plan to return to Hotspur Way until he is granted his wish to leave."

Kane, 28, was due at Hotspur Way on Monday for COVID-19 testing and routine blood work after an extended break following England's run to the final of Euro 2020.

However, Kane chose not to attend, a move that represents an escalation in the stand-off between the striker and Spurs chairman Daniel Levy. Kane had previously expressed his desire to leave the club this summer.

The report says that Kane does not plan on playing for the club again and wants to join Manchester City, while sources at the club also insist that no "gentleman's agreement" was ever made between the striker and Levy for him to move.

08.30 BST: LAFC moved to fill a roster vacancy Monday, signing forward Cristian Arango from Millonarios FC in Colombia.

According to MLSsoccer.com, LAFC will pay a $2.5m signing fee.

Since 2019, the 26-year-old Arango has scored 22 goals with six assists in 58 games with Millonarios. He is expected to provide offense for a team that is 6-5-5 (23 points) and tied for fifth place in the Western Conference heading into Wednesday's home game against Sporting Kansas City.

PAPER GOSSIP (by Adam Brown)

- Gianluca Di Marzio writes that Internazionale have rejected an approach from Chelsea for star striker Romelu Lukaku. The deal, which reportedly included €100m plus Marcos Alonso was turned down with the Serie A champions keen on keeping hold of their hitman that scored 24 goals in 36 league appearances last season. The 28-year-old recently said that he intends to stay at Inter, and it looks as though that stance has not changed despite serious interest from Thomas Tuchel's side.

- The injury to Alex Telles has done nothing to dissuade left-back Brandon Williams from his intention of leaving Manchester United on loan to get regular first-team experience. The Manchester Evening News writes that the 20-year-old wishes to be sent on a season-long loan after only starting five games last campaign, as cover for both Luke Shaw and Telles. The defender is capable of playing on both sides of defence and has impressed in a handful of outings since breaking into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.

- Fabrizio Romano says that Tottenham are just one step away from landing Atalanta defender Cristian Romero. Spurs have been linked with the 23-year-old recently and it now looks as though their bid of around £50m will be accepted. The Italian journalist also says that Atalanta have identified their replacement for Romero, with the club targeting Juventus defender Merih Demiral.

- Joe Hart's future has been confirmed with Celtic agreeing on a deal with the former England international. Fabrizio Romano says the 34-year-old will head to Scotland on a contract worth £15,000-a-week, with the club set to make the announcement later in the week. The goalkeeper spent last season with Tottenham Hotspur, but only made two FA Cup appearances against Wycombe Wanderers and Marine.

- PSG are one of the clubs interested in Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, according to Le10 Sport. The Serie A star has been on the radar of a number of teams across Europe with Napoli failing to qualify for the Champions League last season. Sporting director Leonardo is reportedly keen on the 30-year-old who would join Sergio Ramos at the Parc des Princes if the Ligue 1 runners-up can strike a deal.
